In Malaysia, electrical appliances need to obtain several certifications such as ISO/IEC and CE for health, safety, reliability and other compliance purposes. In recent years, the sales of electrical appliances through online platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, Taobao etc. has allowed electrical appliances without such certifications been sold in the Malaysia market. Consequently, consumers are exposed to health and safety threats of these uncertified electrical appliances. To protect the rights, health and safety of consumers, as well as the interest of local merchants who have invested money and effort in obtaining relevant certifications, this project aims to develop an online portal for managing certifications of electrical appliances sold in Malaysia.

The portal will be used mainly for three purposes:

1. For the merchants’ association to manage their members.

2. For the administrators to manage certifications of electrical appliances sold by the association’s members.

3. For consumers to retrieve certification information about electrical appliances sold by the association’s members, either via the portal or a mobile application.
