Project Title Smart Dialysis Patient Monitoring and Scheduling Management System
Subtitle No subtitle
Description

This project aims to develop a centralised, web-based system to manage dialysis patient records, automate session scheduling, monitor treatment data, and generate clinical alerts for nephrologists and dialysis centre administrators.

The general objective of this system is to replace fragmented manual processes with a unified digital platform, thereby reducing scheduling conflicts, improving patient safety through real-time monitoring, and optimising the administrative workflow of dialysis centres.

Currently, many dialysis facilities rely on paper-based records or disconnected software, making it difficult to track a patient's historical treatment data or quickly identify abnormal clinical readings. By providing a centralised solution, this project ensures that critical health data is immediately accessible to healthcare professionals for timely intervention.

The system will consist of several key modules:

  • Patient Profile Management: A secure module to store and manage comprehensive patient medical histories and dialysis prescriptions.
  • Session Scheduling with Conflict Detection: An automated scheduling engine that assigns dialysis machines and time slots while preventing double-booking and resolving resource conflicts.
  • Treatment Data Entry: A digital form for nurses to input vital signs and dialysis machine parameters before, during, and after sessions.
  • Automated Threshold-Based Alerts: A monitoring system that triggers immediate clinical alerts if a patient's treatment data falls outside safe, predefined medical thresholds.
  • Nephrologist Review Dashboard: A specialised interface for doctors to review patient progress, acknowledge alerts, and adjust dialysis prescriptions remotely.
  • Administrative Reporting: A module for generating facility utilisation reports and patient attendance records.

The project aligns with SDG Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being by ensuring better healthcare management and patient safety
