This project aims to develop a system that manages the information about committees that exist in an organization. The system should enable the organization to easily search and retrieve information, as well as generate reports about committees that exist; to generate appointment letters from the data stored in the system; to generate reports on staff’s membership in committees that can be used by superiors when appraising their staff’s annual performance.  

Example of details to be captured for each committee are: name of committee, purpose of the committee, members of the committee, appointment start and end dates, role and responsibilities of each member, person who will sign the appointment letter, and so on.

The system is intended to be used for a long time, with minimal initial procurement and subsequent maintenance costs. Software maintenance cost should be minimal. Therefore, aspects that are likely to change should be customizable, for e.g., appointment letters and reports.

The students have to come up with the costing of the system that is acceptable to the stakeholders before commencing the development.

The students have to propose system’s functionalities that can fulfil the above requirements and bring a good return on investment to the stakeholders. In addition, the scope of the proposed system’s functionalities has to be big enough for two students.
