E-voting is an online
voting system that allows voters to vote regardless of where they are. It
removes the need to vote on paper or gather in person because it is a digital
platform. Online voting systems will increase accessibility for disabled voters
while also speeding up election results and lowering the cost of paying workers
to manually count votes. The
secured voting system is a web-based computerized system designed to help solve
issues with the paper ballot system (Fanida, Manda 3 et al. 2018). The method
aims to make the election process more convenient and trustworthy. The University of Malaya currently
uses a manual voting system that allows voters to vote manually and in person,
at a voting place, as well as cast their vote on a paper ballot and a student's
matric card is required to be present on election day. On a hot sunny day, the
student must walk a long distance from their accommodation, which is tough for
them, and they may not be willing to vote in person, but with an electronic
voting system, the number of students who vote may be higher than with a manual
method. The voting method can be replaced and made more efficient by using an
electronic voting system and the use of innovation to the voting process will
statistics on voting turnout are likely to improve. The outcomes of voting will
be provided to students in a shorter amount of time, and the process's
dependability will always be available. The main objective of this system is to
design, develop and implement the secured, user-friendly, interactive web-based
online voting system. The methodology used is system design life cycle.
