On 31 December 2019, a cluster of cases of pneumonia of unknown cause, in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China, was reported to the World Health Organization. In January 2020, a previously unknown new virus was identified, subsequently named the 2019 novel coronavirus, and samples obtained from cases and analysis of the virus’ genetics indicated that this was the cause of the outbreak. This novel coronavirus was named Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) by WHO in February 2020. The virus is referred to as SARS-CoV-2 and the associated disease is COVID-19. It has been known that the virus is deadly but there are still some clusters of people who took this issue very lightly but most importantly, children are the ones that suffer the most as they are not taught what and how does the coronavirus spread. Their education had been delayed because of the pandemic and their family members are the closest to them as of now. Automatically, the responsibility of teaching them about the virus falls onto them. Our project is to develop a sandbox game, which is Android-based that simulates real-world situations so that the children can experience life during a pandemic and how to comply with the Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) that is set by the government. The target group for this game is children aged 6-12 years old, and at the end of the game, they will have to take a quiz to see how much they had learned after they had played the game.
