Due to the rapidly increasing smartphone user and the rise of social media, the amount of digital content that is seeking the user’s attention is growing at a fast pace. The ease of sharing and reposting on the virtual world has allowed clickbait to spread extremely fast. To add to that, clickbait can be harmful when it’s used along with the creation of fake news. The outrageous fake headlines stoke the emotions of readers, who then spread the content on social media. In some cases fake news can cause harm especially to the individual involved in the articles. This is why developing a system that can detect clickbait headlines can come into play.
