              With the increasing number of ecommerce businesses there is a huge need for a courier company to deliver shipment to the consumer. Nowadays consumers prefer to do online shopping instead of physically going to a shopping mall. With this there is a need for a Shipment Status System to monitor every point of shipment movement so that consumers are able to track their shipment from merchants until shipment safely arrives at the destination.

            Thus, I would like to develop a shipment status system/ application that allows riders to scan QR code to update the status of a parcel. It also facilitates the riders in discovering their direction to deliver the parcels to the final destination. Besides that, it also aids the riders by displaying a list of parcel information such as location and contact number and then giving directions to riders based on the chosen customer’s addresses. Other than that, customers will be informed before reaching so that the customers will be aware of the parcel that they will receive.

            The system will be built using ASP.NET Core as the front end and Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) as the backend, database and some other various configurations for the system. Android Studio and Visual Studio served as IDEs at the development stage. Agile techniques will be applied for keeping track of the development progress. Moreover, literature review has been carried out to acquire the knowledge regarding this shipment status system. The knowledge obtained helps to create the requirements for the system together with the information obtained from the interview with collaborators.

            To conclude, when the courier company has good system that provides customer with live update of their parcel status and location, then customer will feel less worried about their parcel whereabout.
