This report describes the planning, design, and implementation of a mobile application
for managing talents and monitoring staff performance for Malaysian Airport (MA)
Sepang. The objective of this mobile application is to provide a platform to which all the
employees of MA Sepang can utilize to enhance their own performance. This mobile
application also aims on the centralizing all the data in MA Sepang that is scattered across
different spreadsheets and providing a one-stop application in which the staff can view
information of other staff and conduct performance-related tasks with ease.
Since the system will only be used by the staff in MA Sepang, requirements were directly
elicited from our stakeholders Mrs Shibrah and Mr Azfar (managers at MA Sepang) by
conducting online meetings with them. Among the main problems identified was the noncentralization of data, absence of a platform where all staff can grow as talents, and also
the absence of a medium to which these staff can exchange information or knowledge
across different departments. After identifying the problems by eliciting requirements
from our stakeholders, literature reviews and system comparisons were conducted to
identify possible solutions to the problems stated by our stakeholders, to which a total of
11 modules were proposed.
By utilizing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, all modules were
able to be implemented, in which upon completion of each module would be presented
to our stakeholders to get their feedback on the developed modules. Upon completion of
the modules, the REST API was deployed to Heroku, and the mobile application was
built into an Android Package (APK) for our stakeholders to evaluate directly, in which
they were satisfied with the developed system.
