E-Attendance System with Geolocation is an attendance system comprising of a website that will be used by both students and lecturers. The objectives of this system are to prevent students cheating on their attendances, get notifications when the time or venue of their classes were changed, provide a systematic method for absent students to send their reason for absence to lecturer, provide a systematic method for students to give their opinions about the way their classes are taught,  provide the lecturers with their classes’ attendance record analysis and prediction of future attendance trend of their classes.

The iterative development model has been chosen as our primary methodology in completing the project. This model focuses on simplifying implementation that has more complexity and a wide feature set as it moves towards the final system. In short, iterative development is basically breaking down the software development process into smaller pieces.

We conducted an online survey on the students and lecturers of the Faculty of Science Computer and Information Technology regarding the current attendance system to get their insight on the problems of the current attendance system and their opinions on our proposed solution. We have also conducted an interview with our stakeholder to get a detailed picture of the current attendance system and its problems, and to get his opinion on our proposed solutions. Furthermore, we have reviewed several articles about other attendance systems in order to help us find better solutions and implementations. We have even selected and compared a few existing systems available on the Internet in the hopes of emulating some of their implementations into our own system.
